Ukrainian pianist Alona Khoptynets performs widely in Europe and the USA, collaborating with symphony orchestras and playing in recital and chamber settings. Alona is a prizewinner of many international piano competitions, including top prizes at the 2021 Rome International Music Competition, which led to a performance on December 2021 at Parco della Musica in Rome, Italy, MTNA Piano Competition, the 5th International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (Ukraine), Emil Rotundu Canto & Piano International Competition (Romania), and Talents of the 21st Century (Bulgaria), Constanța International Competition - Festival for Young Pianists (Romania), The Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition (Spain). She was awarded the Scholarship of the President of Ukraine for young artists and musicians, and participated at the Avila International Music Festival in Ávila, Spain. Khoptynets completed her piano studies with Professor Olena Bondarenko at Glière Kyiv Institute of Music, and graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, studying under Professor Anzhela Fandeeva. In May 2023 Alona graduated from Sam Houston State University – School of Music with a Master’s degree in Piano Performance where she studied with Dr. Diego Caetano. Currently, Alona Khoptynets is a doctoral student in Collaborative Piano at the Moores School of Music – University of Houston, where she studies with Professor Timothy Hester.
