Born in Port Arthur, TX in 1973, Brian Riker started his study with Hugh Thompson of Beaumont, TX when he was 15 years of age. He was awarded the John Paul Endowed Piano Scholarship at Sam Houston State University, where he studied with Dr. John Paul from 1993 to 1998. He pursued graduate studies at University of North Texas where he studied with Berthe Odnoposoff. In 2005, he was selected to study at The Bösendorpher Piano Academy in Vienna, Austria. He completed his Master's in Piano Performance at Lamar University in 2006 with Dr. Arthur Stewart.
Brian has actively pursued postgraduate studies with concert artists Dr. Richard Dowling, Margerie Rasche, and Dr. Debra Greschner in both piano, organ and voice. He has been active in Music Teachers National Association, and his students have received top rankings in festivals and competitions. He has been active as a collaborative artist, church musician, and soloist, performing in the United States as well as Europe for over 20 years.
Brian Riker is currently the organist at Atascocita United Methodist Church.
