Lilya Arustamyan

Lilya Arustamyan is an Armenian-born cellist who had her first concerto appearance just three years after beginning her studies. She has since appeared at distinguished venues including Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall and Mechanics Hall in Boston, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Slovak Radio Hall in Bratislava, and theVienna Musik- und Theaterhaus.

Her collaborations include performances with the Denver Young Artist Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Boettcher Concert Hall, the Prague Conservatoire String Orchestra at the Rudolfinum, as well as Boston-based ensembles Horizon Ensemble and BoCoCelli.

Lilya earned her Bachelor of Music from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee studying under Andrew Mark and is now pursuing a Master of Music at the Moores School of Music at theUniversity of Houston with Eunghee Cho. She is a recipient of the Murley Family Thrive Endowed Scholarship and the Hirsch Scholarship Endowment.

She has received coachings from the Formosa Quartet, Adolphus Hailstork, Blaise Déjardin Deborah Pae, and Astrid Schween, among others, and has participated in festivals such as the International Cello Institute, Ascent International Cello Festival, Texas Music Festival, Montecito International Music Festival, etc. Shaped by her Armenian heritage and multilingual upbringing, Lilya speaks Armenian, English, German, and Russian.
